Home for the Weekend

Horseshoes

I am back home for the weekend, I came back into town to visit some friends and to get some work done on my internship project. I took some time this afternoon walking through my grandparents grape arbor and garden. Ive been there hundreds of times before, I have become so familiar with that place; I could walk through it with my eyes closed. Even the horseshoes hanging on the old post in the photo above have been around for years, despite the new coat of Rustoleum paint already chipping away.

I was working with my Nikon D2H(but that sounds like a name drop, the gear doesn’t matter) what really matters is that I was working on shooting RAW images, most of the time I was shooting with a fixed 50mm f1.8 lens.  I spent around an hour with the family in the garden sampling the variety of grapes and taking photos.

Ive really never photographed much of my grandparents house. The familiarity of the place seemed to make it easier to capture the feeling that I was looking for.
