Just finished working on this image I took Saturday evening on the coast. Its more of an impression, I locked off the camera on the tripod then set the shutter speed to around 25 seconds, I slowly panned the camera across the shoreline leaving the image with smooth lines and soft light.
This past weekend Marina and I spent a night camping on the Oregon Coast south of Newport. We had a great time enjoying the September weather on the coast. Saturday evening I worked on a few impressions of the sunset. I ended up liking this photo the most out of the series I shot.
I have been working on images that take advantage of the light just before and just after sunset. I really like the unusual feel that images made in the twilight hours have. This image however is one of my first attempts in creating impressionistic work. I was trying to capture the light and lines of the beach at sunset without showing a specific details. I worked on a few versions of this image trying to get the lines and exposure closer to what I could work with.
