My photographs are in campaigns for Travel Oregon, Airbnb, and Chevrolet. I shoot remote landscapes across the American West with field-tested techniques and natural light. I also shoot weddings, portraits, and brand campaigns. My portfolio is at Photographs.

wphoto.co is my photography studio. I shoot brand content, portraits, and weddings for commercial, editorial, and personal clients.

Author of five photography books
Landscape Portfolio captures wild terrain across the Western U.S. Black and White is about monochrome photography. Working With Film covers analog processes in modern workflows. Western Overland Excursion is a photographic road trip through American landscapes. All five digital books and field guides are at Books and Amazon.

Podcast producer and host
I host five podcasts: the Billy Newman Photo Podcast, Get Out There Podcast, Night Sky Podcast, Media Tech Podcast, and Relax with Rain.

Backcountry travel and night sky
I have shot Western wilderness areas since 2011: Wallowa Mountains, Alvord Desert, Tetons, Yellowstone, Moab, Canyonlands, Yosemite, and Grand Canyon. Early trips were 50–100 day road expeditions. Now I do shorter trips and daily morning shoots, tracking constellations, moon phases, and sky conditions.

Scholarship organizer
I founded the Kelly Christensen Memorial Scholarship for my English teacher at Hidden Valley High School, working with the Redwood Education Foundation to support graduating seniors.
