The Grand Canyon is a spectacular place. I took this photograph as the last bit of daylight was leaving the canyon. This image of the Grand Canyon was featured in my book working with film. The photo has a soft look to it with the evening backlight cast on the erosion of the canyon.
This film image from the Grand Canyon was captured on the Nikon FG 20 film camera and a roll of Fujifilm 400 speed film. I was working with a 50mm F1.8 lens.This exposure was created around 15 minutes before the sun went below the horizon. In this location, the canyon rests below the rest of the surrounding landscape. The dynamic shadows were interesting to see in the canyon.
