Llama Photograph On Film

llama

More than you would think went into capturing this llama with all four feet on the ground in profile to me while it walked by.The llama in this photograph was owned by a neighbor, but staying on the property of my grandparents. While I was there visiting them, I walked up into the field and photographed this llama.

I created this photographed in August 2012 while I was working on images for a film photo book. This image was created on a frame of Fujifilm 400 speed film. For this image I was shooting with a Nikon FG 20 and a 50 mm F1.8 lens. The exposure in this image takes advantage of the soft summer evening light.

The photograph was shot with an F1.8 mm lens set to a wide open aperture to allow for a soft look to the background.

The llama was only a temporary resident on the property that my grandparents had. It stayed there for a few months during this year, and then was moved to a permanent residence.
