For a long time I have been a fan of John Mayer, In fact I consider him to be one of the best current popular musicians in the industry. I was lucky enough this summer to head down to Marysville California this last week to go to a John Mayer concert. It was a great show; It defiantly ranks as one of the top experiences of the summer. The only negative that I could report is that there was not enough time in the show to get to all of the great songs that John Mayer has written. The set list was solid though. I was very impressed with the performance from the entire band.
- Waiting on the World to Change
- Clarity
- I Don’t Trust Myself (With Loving You)
- Crossroads
- Wheel
- Good Love is On the Way
- Daughters
- Free Falling
- Belief
- Mercy
- No Such Thing
- Bigger Than My Body
- Encore
- Man On The Side/Who Did You Think I Was?
- Vultures/Burning Down The House
- Gravity
The managers of this tour have set it up so that personal recordings could be made of the shows. I brought in an m-audio handheld digital stereo recorder. I got most of the show and it worked pretty well. I would say that it was defiantly worth it, in so many ways. The extended content, the musicianship and the overall energy of the show came together just right.
