campfire in eastern Oregon
Camping in the back country of eastern Oregon is one of my favorite things to do. In this photograph created with a long exposure we see a campfire and Marina and Dave under the stars as we camped in the spring near lake County. I like how the sparks from the fire leave Golden trails as they whisper up in the hot percent of smoke.
In the sky we see the stars of Scorpio and the bright planet Mars near the other planet Saturn to the left.
Long exposure photography of the night sky is very interesting. In this image I tried to balance the exposure of the campfire onto the faces and bodies of the subjects near the campsite with the illumination of the sky and the stars above.
