This image was made during May of 2013 while I was on a camping trip with my Father and Grandfather.  My Grandpa Sherm, hiking around a spot in the high desert of eastern Oregon. 

I took this photograph of a Zennia in my Grandma’s garden back in the summer.  I like the soft look the film adds to this picture.  

This photo of a Mini Cooper driving by me at the classic car cruise has this streaking effect called panning. It is an in camera effect that changes the visual asthetic and mood.  I try and add a sureal look to most of my photos.  Somthing that has a certain fell to it.

I wrote a book this last year covering the process of learning how to use a fully manual film camera . The process really influenced my visual style and taught me a lot about slowing down and thinking critically about the image I want to make.  I think this process would be valuable for any one that is interested in photography and working with film and analog methods.  I put together a stand-alone website about …

This Cairn is the only man made symbol to notify hikers of a change in the trail.  Some places are still wild and untammed.  

This photo was taken in the grass lands out side of Pendelton Oregon. This image looks northwest through the windmill farm- toward Mt. adams in the distance.

This photo was taken in Sego Canyon in a remote part of central Utah.  The petroglyphs covered the walls of this rim rock. 

This image was taken in the alabama hills with a full moon and a 15 second exposure.  It gives the land a strange daylight look. Almost like the daylight we are used to, but slightly off- more sureal.

This photo was taken with my film camera, and an old manual focus 28mm f2.8 lens – works pretty well during the day while I am taking photos with a faster shutter speed.  For   this picture I set the camera up on a tripod and set the shutter speed to bulb – I think this was somewhere around a ten second exposure- Film always seems to give off interesting results.  

If you are ever in Yosemite, during the winter, Check out the canvas tents-  It was a nice way to explore the busy-ness of the yosemite valley.

Here is an image I took during blue hour from the top of the Siskiyou mountain range – Looking in to the deep wilderness of northern Califronia.
