Really nice place to camp for the week. Strange to not see another person for a whole week. Wilderness can teach you a lot.

Panning experiments
This photo of a Mini Cooper driving by me at the classic car cruise has this streaking effect called panning. It is an in camera effect that changes the visual asthetic and mood. I try and add a sureal look to most of my photos. Somthing that has a certain fell to it.
Working with film
I wrote a book this last year covering the process of learning how to use a fully manual film camera . The process really influenced my visual style and taught me a lot about slowing down and thinking critically about the image I want to make. The Cairns of Northern Utah
This Cairn is the only man made symbol to notify hikers of a change in the trail. Some places are still wild and untammed.

This photo was taken in Sego Canyon in a remote part of central Utah. The petroglyphs covered the walls of this rim rock.
The Alien World
This image was taken in the alabama hills with a full moon and a 15 second exposure. It gives the land a strange daylight look. Almost like the daylight we are used to, but slightly off- more sureal.

Light Leaks and Long Exposures
This photo was taken with my film camera, and an old manual focus 28mm f2.8 lens – works pretty well during the day while I am taking photos with a faster shutter speed. For this picture I set the camera up on a tripod and set the shutter speed to bulb – I think this was somewhere around a ten second exposure- Film always seems to give off interesting results.
Canvas Tents in Yosemite
