Big Stopper ND filter and a long exposure
The big stopper is one of my go-to filters for surreal effects in landscape photos. In this photo taken in broad daylight in the afternoon, I am able to re-create the dynamics of Bluehour. This image was captured in Bandon Oregon on the beach near the rocks. The blue color and washed look of the ocean water is captured with a long exposure allowed by the addition of a big stopper filter.
The filter is used to create this type of effect that adds 10 stops of exposure time to the image. The effect is one of surrealism. In many of my images, I like to include the washed look of clouds in the sky or the smooth look of water on the surface. I used a Big Stopper ND filter and a long exposure to capture the smooth blue effect on the water during the daylight at the beaches in Bandon Oregon.
