I am Billy Newman — photographer, author of four photography books, podcast producer & host, founder of wphoto.co, and outdoor travel & night sky enthusiast.

I welcome emails at billy@billynewmanphoto.com. Find me on Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.

Photographer
My photographs are in campaigns for Travel Oregon, Airbnb, and Chevrolet. I shoot remote landscapes across the American West with field-tested techniques and natural light. I also shoot weddings, portraits, and brand campaigns. My portfolio is at billynewmanphoto.com/photographs.

Founder of wphoto.co
WPhoto.co is my photography studio. I shoot brand content, portraits, and weddings for commercial, editorial, and personal clients.

Author of four photography books
Landscape Portfolio captures wild terrain across the Western U.S. Black and White is about monochrome photography. Working With Film covers analog processes in modern workflows. Western Overland Excursion is a photographic road trip through American landscapes. My books are at billynewmanphoto.com/books and amazon.com/author/billynewman.

Podcast producer & host
I host three podcasts. The Billy Newman Photo Podcast covers behind-the-scenes stories from my fieldwork. Relax with Rain is ambient soundscapes for deep work and rest. The Night Sky Podcast covers astronomy, storytelling, and skywatching.

Backcountry travel & night sky
I’ve shot Western wilderness areas since 2011. Wallowa Mountains, Alvord Desert, Tetons, Yellowstone, Moab, Canyonlands, Yosemite, Grand Canyon. Early trips were 50-100 day road expeditions. Now I do shorter trips and daily morning shoots. I track constellations across seasons and use this to plan photography around moon phases and sky conditions.

Scholarship organizer
I founded the Kelly Christensen Memorial Scholarship for my English teacher at Hidden Valley High School. I work with the Redwood Education Foundation to select graduating seniors who lead and mentor.

I am a photographer and creative director that has served clients in the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii. For more than 10 years, I have worked with businesses and individuals to create a portfolio of commercial photography. The images have been placed within billboard, print, and digital campaigns including Travel Oregon, Airbnb, Chevrolet and Guaranty RV.

My photographs often incorporate outdoor landscape environments with strong elements of light, weather, and sky. Through my work, I have published several books of photographs that further explore my connection to natural places.
