Evening in the Oregon high desert
Photograph was taken out of a landscape in eastern Oregon. The area of the great basin is covered in sage and Rimrock now but once carried a lot of water and is now represented by the erosion that that water pattern had on the land. This image was photographed of a Rimrock that stretched out in the Oregon high desert.
The draw of an old creek that flowed out sometime thousands of years ago after the end of the Pleistocene. Now in modern times it is landscapes like this that draw my attention to locations in the high desert and great basin area of the western United States. Images like this are what I was interested in photographing when I first went out on a trip to create photographs of the Western public lands in 2011. Locations like this in Oregon Idaho Nevada and Utah are all very interesting and public land.
